The bridal shower in PA... in a hurry?

My bff of 15 years was planning her wedding for March of 2009... Today I am told it was just moved up to September 6, 2008... We haven%26#039;t even ordered my dress or the flower girl dresses yet... I am the only other person in her wedding so all the %26quot;help%26quot; for her falls on me. Which I was fine with when we had plenty of time... I am right in the middle of purchasing my first home so putting out $300 on the dress is going to make things tight enough as it is. But now I need to have her shower and bachelorette party planned and done in the next couple months as well.

Any ideas on a semi-cheap but great shower??

Also, any ideas for a good bachelorette party? We kind have to have 2 of these because she wants 1 with friends only with a kinda wild theme and a stripper and then 1 with the family too...

Someone please help me?!?!?!?!?!?

Ok doing info in pieces:

Reply:well if you wait until it gets a little warmer out, you can have it in somebody%26#039;s backyard. all you would have to rent is a tent, and buy the food and such. it would probably be a lot less expensive to have it in a yard. if you don%26#039;t want to do that, would her mom or someone be willing to let you use her house? or could you maybe have it at your house?
Reply:I%26#039;m in the Harrisburg area. Is this remotely close to where you are?

Alois Restaurant in Mount Joy does murder mystery dinners which would probably be TONS of fun for a bachelorette party if you want to keep it tame.
Reply:Just give her lots of love in many many ways. Have someone jump out of the cake, an old crush, perhaps!
Reply:Update: The Cave shut down.

I think it%26#039;s a bit much for your friend to want 2 bachelorette parties. If you plan one, you%26#039;re doing your part. If she wants one with the family, let the family plan it.

Call her Mom for help with planning the shower. You shouldn%26#039;t do it all yourself. You can plan a small shower at a restaurant. Perhaps a tea room.
