How do I stop a vase from seeping water?

I have 3 vases, 2 I purchased from McCarty Potter in Merigold, MS (a world renownded) and the 3rd from an Ashely Furniture Home Store. When I put fresh cut flowers in them, I%26#039;ve noticed that after a few days the bottom is soaked. Other than putting saran wrap underneath, I don%26#039;t know what to do!

How do I stop a vase from seeping water?
Some pottery and ceramics aren%26#039;t water tight. They are okay for silk flowers but not fresh. The easiest way to prevent the problem with out damaging the vase is to buy a water sealant from a home improvement store. They make the kind that is specifically for this purpose. Apply the sealant and let it dry. After it is dry the vase will hold water.

If you don%26#039;t want to use the sealant then use a plastic garbage bag. Stick it all the way into the vase and then take the end that is sticking out and hold it in place around the neck with a rubber band. Make sure you have some greenery to cover up the bag so it doesn%26#039;t show.

Good Luck!!

Reply:Try to have them repaired by the maker. If you do it yourself, you may substantially devalue the piece. However, in general you could line the inside with plastic. It should be less unsightly that way.
Reply:Get another vase go to someone else to fix it. But I%26#039;d rather get another vase.
