Which wilton (icing) tips should I use for decorating this cake?
Okay, I%26#039;ll answer as I figure each one out -- I hope you don%26#039;t mind.

First of all, the hearts are made with a tip #3

The flowers appear to be a swirl flower that can be made with a #2D tip, using a tip #3 for the dot in the middle.

It%26#039;s hard to tell exactly what the bottom three borders are -- it looks like round dots made with a round tip. Depending on the dot size, it could be any tip ranging from #8 through #12. When you are shopping for Wilton tips at Michael%26#039;s, look to see the actual tip opening. If you%26#039;re unsure, always go for a smaller size -- you can always make the dot bigger than the hole opening, but can%26#039;t make it smaller using a larger tip.

The border around the top layer looks like smaller dots, maybe using a tip ranging from #3 through #6. I can%26#039;t tell what%26#039;s bordering the fondant ribbon -- more dots? If so, it appears to be the same size as the top layer border. I would use the same tip.

It%26#039;s a beautiful cake. Good luck!!
Reply:it depends on the border, tipe of flower, and what you want you%26#039;r hart to look like. most borders use tip #31 roses take the tip #125 you can make a hart with almost any tip. tip #79 %26amp; tip #80 work good for flowers also. tip #104 %26amp; 101 work for smaller flowers and roses. they also work for dasies and those swerly flowers.

Reply:I%26#039;m not sure what the numbers of each tip are, at this moment. But one tip has a small round opening on front. Use thatone for the little white buttons, or whatever the dots are. Then the ribbon tip and the small star tip. Those are mysuggestions.
